We met Lisa and Drew at a local wine bar to discuss their wedding. At the end of the meeting I knew we we really in for something. First off this couple was so comfortable with each other. Both very confident and ready to get their new life together started with a bang. They laid out the schedule,  a cozy ceremony at the Hyatt Highlands Inn in Carmel followed by a meal overlooking the Pacific Ocean. For us that was the end of day 1. Day 1? Yes, there was more to come…

On Sunday we regrouped in San Jose where a large reception was hosted at the Sainte Claire Hilton, a majestic classic hotel in the heart of downtown San Jose. The area offered great shooting opportunities. Lisa and Drew knew what they wanted and they were willing to put aside the time to create with us. We found some  inspiration at the California Theater just around the corner from the hotel. Other SJ landmarks including Original Joe’s came into play during our “walkabout”.

We retreated into the classic hotel for an amazing reception, dinner and dancing that ran until nearly midnight on a Sunday night! Lisa and her Dad performed a song from her childhood “House at Pooh Corner” that brought the house down. Amazing talent. This group knows how to enjoy a celebration. At the end of the evening  the newlyweds slipped away to join us outside for some cool night shots using the downtown lights a s the backdrop.
